My God, where was the Internet and all that it has to offer when I was in school? A co worker of mine was telling me that her son was receiving tutoring via the Internet and I thought that that was pretty cool. I could have used some Math homework help back in my schooling years, especially middle and high school. Numbers and I have never gotten along, lord knows what I would do with out my handy dandy calculator.

I spent a good amount of time with the little old lady down the street that tutored the neighborhood kids for a small fee. It helped and I got through the school, but it was a real drag, I can tell you that. She smelled bad, like old moth balls and her teeth were always, well, just nasty. Just what a teen aged boy wants to spend time with after school.

From what I understand you can go to tutorvista.com where they offer folks Free math help and Free homework help for a large variety of subjects, K -12 and even up into the college years. Pretty cool huh? Pass the word it’s all good!

I found this on Yahoo.com and thought it good enough to share here, interesting information since this world is filling up with so many liars these days!

How to Catch a Liar

1. How is the person speaking?

Although a change in voice can be the tip-off to a lie, experts say that to be sure, you should also pay attention to a person’s speech rate and breathing pattern — if either speeds up or slows down, chances are you’re not hearing the whole truth.

2. What is the person saying?

Liars tend to avoid exclusionary words like “but,” “nor,” “except,” and “whereas,” because they have trouble with complex thought processes. Liars are less likely to use the words “I,” “me,” and “mine.” In their attempts to distance themselves psychologically from their tall tales, liars will tend to communicate using fewer personal pronouns.

3. Is his face giving it away?

You may think disguising your true feelings is easily accomplished with the help of a smile, but the expressions that flash across your face will give away what you’re really thinking — whether you know it or not. Experts advise paying close attention to the micro-expressions that a face can’t hide. These clues are often so difficult to detect that even trained experts have trouble discerning them.

4. How is the person smiling?

A smile can sometimes mask a person’s true feelings. Pay close attention to how a person smiles as well as other facial movements. You may be able to detect the emotions he or she is trying to hide — such as fear, anger, and disgust. A true smile will incorporate both a person’s lips and eyes.

5. Does the body language follow the story?

It’s more important to examine a person’s entire demeanor, as there’s no one feature that’s apt to give away a liar. Honesty is characterized by features that are in sync with one another — so besides posture, note the fit between face, body, voice, and speech.

6. Is your subject behaving uncharacteristically?

Experts believe changes in a person’s baseline — how she generally conducts herself — are worthy of your attention. You should weigh rate of speech, tone of voice, posture, and hand gestures against what you know, along with the context of the situation.

7. Is the question simple or embarrassing?

It’s normal for someone to look away when asked a difficult question. But when someone avoids your gaze when asked a simple question, you should be suspicious.

I have to say that I don’t know all the much about the much talked about this Mesothelioma Disease that a good amount of people are having to deal with these days. I do know that there seems to be a lot of commercials for Mesothelioma Attorney practices advertising their Mesothelioma Lawyer services for people to take advantage of.

I just recently found out that a neighbor has been in contact with one of these practices. It seems that he was in the Navy back in the Vietnam days and spent some time on a submarine, which is where he contacted this disease. He has been experiencing symptoms for years and had no idea what the cause of these symptoms was until just a few years back. I’m glad that he found out about this condition and is taking action and could possibly get some money to help with the situation. Our Vets deserve all that they can get for what they did for us and our country.

Last night I found myself doing some mindless surfing on the Internet. You know how you start clicking and clicking and the good lord only knows where you can end up in the end. I found myself at an interesting site, recruemedia.com, regarding retargeting, which is something that I knew absolutely nothing about. But I’m all about not be too old to learn anything, so I try and learn what I can, when I can.

I know that there is a lot involved with today’s computers and I have a lot to learn. But living the life that I do, on the farm and all, I don’t have all that much need to know so much of what is out there these days. My kid brother is the computer whiz of the family, he has taught me a good amount of things that I have found enlightening, just wish he could come around a bit more than he does at this point. I’m sure he would know all about retargeting companies and remarketing and all that goes along with that issue.

I have a box that I keep all types of batteries and a battery tester in, I try to keep it full as much as possible. But it always seems to happen that I reach in there for a particular type of battery only to find that there is only one or two (and of course I am in need of three or four) or I don’t have any at all. I spend a lot of money on batteries.

I’m finding that there are many things around this old place that are in need of repair or replacement, it seems to be a never ending battle. Last night I went to turn the Lamps on in the bedroom beside the bed and one of them wouldn’t turn on. The first thought was that it just needed a new bulb, so I tried that and that didn’t do the trick, sigh……

These old vintage Desk Lamps have been in the house since I can remember and I know that my mother really cherished them, but I’m afraid that they are in need of being replaced at this time. I really don’t want to go out and run from store to store in order to find a new set of lamps, so this weekend I’ll be searching online to find some to purchase. A much easier task that having to run into town.

Since it would make sense to buy one of the new Low Voltage Halogen Lamps, in an effort to reduce the energy being used thus reducing my electric bill each month, I’ll be looking for a pair of these to use. This isn’t something that I planned on doing over the weekend but I do need light in the bedroom and there isn’t an over head light in there to use.

Our mother was totally into having the house looking it’s best. My father was responsible for the outside work and my mother was in charge of inside the home. She never worked a day out of the house and was a dedicated mother and home maker. She was known for her Indoor Planters and Outdoor Planters as well. The neighbors were always so envious of her green thumb and she always received the highest compliments for her talents.

I on the other hand did not inherit her green thumb all though I have managed to keep her favorite plant in her favorite Decorative Planter alive and doing well these past couple of years. I do better with outside plants but I’m trying the best that I can.

My sister, on the other hand, does quite well with her Window Box Planters that she keeps looking good all year round. So for Christmas I’ve got my eyes open for a nice Planter to present her with on Christmas day. I think she will appreciate it and put it to good use. If not I guess she will re gift it like she does with so many of the gifts that she receives!
