The Heat & Humidity is Coming Soon

We have been blessed with a lot of rain and cool temperatures so far this spring. The rain has been a good thing for all the things that have been planted and now we don’t have to worry about dealing with drought conditions this summer, which is very good news indeed. But the hot and humid weather is right around the corner and I need to locate and purchase a new ac compressor for the farm use only truck that gets so much use around the place each and every day. Since we haven’t had to rely on air conditioning yet, it hasn’t been too awfully bad, so the time is right to get on the ball and get this taken care of as soon as possible.

Moving Along…

Man have things been hopping around the farm, as I knew it would. The weather has been perfect for the spring time planting season and I’ve gotten a lot done before the rains came this morning. The rain’s timing couldn’t have been any better. I’ve been doing most of the work myself and I haven’t been getting much sleep and lord knows I haven’t been eating well either, but things have been moving right along.

My stomach has been giving me some issues for a few months now, and now that I’m so busy, run down and not eating the right foods, so I’m looking into a natural colon cleanse product. I understand that it can do wonders for so many health issues, so I’m taking the time tonight to check out some information on the Internet about this process and the products that are out there that will do the job safely and efficiently.

Wedding Plans

There are quite a few weddings that are being planned, in the immediate family, for this spring and summer. The emails are flying with dates, details, questions, concerns, plans and complaints about the pending affairs. This is a pretty large family that are still in mourning over the death of my parents last year and we are trying our best to get along and make peace with idea that they are both gone and won’t be included in the festivities.

One of the Bride’s-t- be  is my niece, my oldest sister’s oldest daughter. She had wanted to wear my mother’s (her grandmother’s) wedding dress and bridal shoes on her special day and is disappointed that I can’t seem to find the much talked about bridal shoes, but I did manage to find the gown and have had it cleaned and repaired for her. All of this drama over a pair of bridal shoes that I’m sure wouldn’t fit her anyway for goodness sake.

I’m sure it will all work out, I’m trying to keep everyone concerned happy, but we all know how that can end up. In the mean time, life goes and there is a lot of work that needs my attention here at the old farm, spring is here and time is precious. So I’ll get back to work and let them deal with the formal attire casualties.

Harvest

I have to admit that I’m not the most creative pumpkin carver on Earth. I have carved pumpkins for many years, but they tend to be average pumpkin faces. You know, the triangle eyes and the toothless evil grin. So I appreciate the talent when someone makes a more clever face, like these. Just need a little imagination and good effort.

This years harvest will be an interesting one, only time will tell how well the place fairs this year, being the first year I’ve had the responsibility of the whole kit and caboodle. But I’m looking forward to it and praying for good weather!

Warm Hands & Feet

During the winter months, I do spend a good amount of my time both at home and a work, outside in the cold and damp weather conditions. One of my sisters heard one of the kids talking about these hand warmers that are all the rage with the cheerleaders that spend so much time in the cold weather also and she decided to inquire about these new products and ask around a bit for more info.

While she was at Wal Mart she checked in the Hunting Department and found this wonderful product and bought a dozen or so of these packets, that you open and shake for a few moments, and that you put in your pocket or gloves and they provide continuous heat for 10 full hours or more. You can even place them in the toe of your shoe or boot.

I tried them out last month when we had the extremely cold weather and was impressed with how well they worked, I’m glad that she took and ran with this brilliant idea, she is good to me.
