Direct TV & Football

I’m so glad that I had the insight to have my satellite service with Directv. I like my Direct TV TiVo and DVR and I can’t imaging life without them at this point. I have been way too busy around the farm and the old house to be able to catch many of the shows that I used to enjoy watching before being burdened with the running of the farm. If I wasn’t able to record them and watch them when I get a chance, I’d really be miserable.

With Football season fast approaching I will really be able to take advantage of all that my satellite TV provider has to offer. I’ll make time for watching as many games as I can possibly watch. A man has his needs you know!

Whatever

Football, or fusbal, or to the common man, soccer! A grand sport indeed. Seems to me to be a glorified form of kickball with a hockey net. Not that it isn’t something that takes a bit of stamina, strength and some wicked kicking skills, but what I just don’t get is why everywhere in the world that they play the sport, the spectators get a bit violent, to say the least, over it!

I saw on the news a while back where they had a game in Mexico and the spectators attacked the opposing team, who barely managed to escape into the stadium tunnels. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why people could get so riled up over a glorified game of kickball.

Wow Game Cards

My teen aged nephew is really into play games online. His favorite right now is World Warcraft. This game is so popular that they state that over 11 million people are now subscribers to this popular game and turn to Buymmoaccounts.com for all their gaming  and their wow game card needs.

Last time I visited with them he showed me this ever growing game, it is a pretty cool concept, with non stop action and excitement. He is pretty good at it and it keeps him off the streets, so it’s all good for $29.99 a month.

Today’s Skate Boarding

Oh to be young and agile again. I am in pretty good shape for my age, what with all the hard labor that the farm demands from me each day, I do fairly well for my age, but I’m no spring chicken anymore to be sure.

Skateboarding has become such a popular sport these days, it takes a whole different breed from back in my day. The tricks and stunts that these young whipper snappers can do on these skateboards are simply amazing and I have to give them credit for their guts and their talent.

Skateboards are much more complicated and diverse then the ones that I grew up on. I was looking at the new Bacon skateboards online at warehouseskateboards.com and I’m impressed with how much they have advanced through the years with today’s technology. Makes me wish I was young once again and able to participate in this exciting sport that is all the rage these days.

Weapons Collection

My father’s father, was an avid gun collector and totally enjoyed showing off his, always changing, and always growing, selections of weapons that were constantly seemingly taking up a large amount of the garage, side & back porch, basement, dining room, living room and his office! The only place that you wouldn’t see something gun related was the bathroom and his bedroom, that, my grandmother insisted, was to be totally gun free. (Except for the 45 that was always within easy reach, and usually was under his pillow).One of my grandfather’s most memorable sayings was “Put the pillow under a lady and put the pistol under the pillow” . And I think of that old saying more often than I would have ever thought I would. As a kid growing up listening to this old man’s stories and sayings, you sort of tuned them out after awhile.

I miss my grandfather. He passed on several years ago, leaving my grandmother grieving and broken hearted. We do what we can to keep her busy and the whole extended family has pulled together to make what is left of her life one that isn’t full of loneliness and old memories.

My grandfather did manage to leave me a small portion of his massive assortment of weapons that were divided up between several members of our very large and extended family. I have several really nice holsters as well and he made sure that each weapon came with an good amount of bullets and cleaning kits and all kinds of other accessories that one might eventually needed for each piece.
