On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a two-page amendment courtesy of Republican Tom Coburn that would require all Members and their staffs to enroll in any new government-run health plan. It took me less than a minute to sign up to require our congressmen and senators to drink at the same trough! Three cheers for Congressman John Fleming of Louisiana !

Congressman John Fleming ( Louisiana physician) has proposed an amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the same health care plan they force on us (under proposed legislation they are curiously exempt).

Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go on his Website and sign his petition (very simple – just first, last and email). I have immediately done just that at: http://fleming.house.gov/index.html . Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!

If Congress forces this on the American people, the Congressmen should have to accept the same level of health care for themselves and their families.

Going and Staying Green Online

One of the best rating and review sites that I have had the pleasure of reviewing is the new and improved Webhostinggeeks.com. They have taken the guess work out of the task of finding which website hosting company has the best options for your use, whether it’s for personal or business use. They have the top ten list of 2009 on their home page, an independent review of the sites that are hosting for $10 or less.

Upon further clicking about, I’m happy to report that they also are providing the top ten Green Web Hostings, green is the color of the century and I’m all about being as green as possible. These top ten green web hosts use alternative energy to to power their data centers in many ways, which are all good options that we all could be using. They plant trees, recycle, and purchase RECs for power needs. You just gotta love and respect their efforts for their eco friendly web hosting products.

They have an interesting blog page that is worth the time to read. They recently address the important of website security, which is a hot topic these days, with all the new viruses and the ridiculus hacking that is taking place now.

Navy Snipers

The United States Navy came to the rescue yesterday. Their highly trained snipers took care of business. Capt Phillips can now go home to his family. These modern high tech pirates have paid the price, but I’m sure this all isn’t over by any means, a lot more blood will be shed, I’m sure of that.

Homeland Security

The issue of Homeland Security is a hot topic and one of a major concern. I was left a bit unsettled when last Sunday I heard on the radio that North Korea had just fired a rocket/missile over Japan. And then just yesterday an American citizen that was being held as hostage due to these crazy, high tech, modern day pirates, was finally released and lives have been lost with the military tactics that we had ready and available. New lines of communicate are being opened with our relationship with Cuba even. Such a sudden increase in politics is a bit over whelming.

With today’s technology playing such a key role in so many area’s, not even bringing Iraq and all that that encompasses, it so very important to have only the best equipment that is available to keep our country along with our best interests safe and secure.

Joke of the Year

This joke was nominated for best joke of the year.

A Russian arrives in New York City as a new immigrant to the United States . He stops the first person he sees walking down the street and says, “Thank you Mr. American for letting me into this country, giving me housing, food stamps, free medical care, and a free education!”

The passerby says, “You are mistaken, I am a Mexican.”

The man goes on and encounters another passerby. “Thank you for having such a beautiful country here America .” The person says, “I not American, I Vietnamese.”

The new arrival walks farther, and the next person he sees he stops, shakes his hand, and says, “Thank you for wonderful America !” That person puts up his hand and says, “I am from Middle East .. I am not American.”

He finally sees a nice lady and asks, “Are you an American?” She says, “No, I am from Africa .”
Puzzled, he asks her, “Where are all the Americans?”;

The African lady checks her watch and says, “Probably at work.”
