After putting so much time and effort into the place, plenty of blood, sweat and tears have been placed into the daily work routine and I just can’t do it all anymore with a sore back each morning.

I have been doing some looking around online to see what types of beds are out there these days, I want to find one that is good quality, fits in with the rest of the furnishings in the old place and it definitely needs to be affordable at this point. Man have I been surprisingly overwhelmed with all of the selections that are now being produced and being offered these days, but I was happy to find one particular site at Time4sleep.co.uk that has a few that have caught my eye and I want to check out further that are in their Antique beds category.

A good quality bed is an investment and not something that I will take lightly, but I really need to make a decision soon, as these cold winter mornings are bad enough without starting them with an aching back!

I guess the older I get the older other people are getting and with age comes health issues, what a crazy vicious cycle of life that we are stuck in. It really makes me wonder what I am going to be in store for the older I get. I all ready deal with a few health problems, nothing serious but enough to keep me going to the doctors more often that I would like to be going.

Inflammation seems to be a great concern for many of us and I’ve been told about a product called Nopalea that is supposed to help your body neutralize it’s inner toxins which helps reduce it’s inflammation issues. It seems that men have been wearing women’s pantyhose for quite some time now, for support, comfort and aesthetic purposes.

This story stated that European men have been sporting hose for several years, but the trend has been slow to catch on in the U.S. Steven Katz, who is a co-owner of Ohio-based Comfilon came up with the idea for creating men’s pantyhose after surfing the Internet and finding complaints from men who were frustrated about their lack of options. Many men who wear “mantyhose” say it isn’t them or even other guys who are embarrassed -it’s mostly their wives and girlfriends.

The Atlanta-based Luxelegwear.com, which makes European hosiery brands available around the world, has sold 75 to 80 percent of its products to men since it started in 2005.

We did do some skate boarding as a kid, but it was no where near as popular and specialized as it is these days. It has become a very “hot” source of entertainment and has prompted a large population to get on these new, bigger and better, skate boards that are being available for this sport. I just know that if I were to try something like that now, at my age, that I would end up in the hospital and no one would be able to take care of the farm and all that goes along with the running of all the things that are important to take care of on a daily basis.

Flip skateboards are a type of board that I had not heard of and was reading about at Warehouseskateboards.com, where they explain that these flip skateboards came about originally in the 1980′s in the U.K, they were first referred to as “Deathbox Skateboards” and were later named Flip in 1991 and then moved to California in 1994.

Along with this article they had some good photo’s and tons of products regarding to all types of this skateboarding craze, no matter what type, style or brand. You can even customize the building of your own boards here, short or long, no matter, they have it all. A good site to check out.

Well, we got a little surprise last month and now the secret is out. Our family of four (Rob and I plus the two furry rascals) is now going to be a family of five. Ya know, with another HUMAN in that equation. Yep, that’s right, we found out we’re expecting! It was a shock to say the least, but now that we’re over the fear that we’re irresponsible parents, we’re so, so excited. I have already started planning the nursery, picking out names, deciding on bedspreads and buying any Ralph Lauren baby clothes I see – boy or girl. Rob, on the other hand, has opened up a Roth IRA, called our ambit energy provider for a better energy rate to save money, cancelled his Sports Illustrated subscription, and has started thinking about what college the baby will go to with “his” basketball scholarship. Ha! Rob and I are both 5’5” with no athletic abilities, FYI. We’re obviously on the same page. What do YOU think we should be doing to prepare for this new little nugget?

Like at Christmas, they all pitched in and adopted a local low income family to supply all kinds of goods to help them get through the Holiday Season easier and they say that you can always find a booklet or two or pamphlets in the break room for people to order things for some type of fundraising for their kids from school, church, or sports.

I think that it is a very good positive attitude to have when there are so many people out there that need help. Their latest approach is in a lupus fundraising attempt, in which they have gone “high tech” and have enlisted the assistance of the World Wide Web through a company called Firstgiving, the link to their home page being Firstgiving.com. Firstgiving makes it possible for anybody to raise money on-line for any cause that they see fit to. You actually go on-line and make your own on-line fundraising page that can then be emailed to people to enlist them into giving an on-line donation. I find this whole idea fascinating and couldn’t wait to bring it up on our PC at home. And when I did bring up the site I really was impressed with what I saw, and I would encourage anybody to check it out also, it is a site that is full of good positive things, we need more of these, don’t you agree.

The reason for choosing this horrible disease by the name of Lupus, apparently is because one of the top management guys has a teen-age daughter inflicted with this health issue and he is very popular with all of the workers and they want to show him their respect by coordinating this fundraiser because of his daughter. I wish them all the luck in the world and give them nothing less than respect that they so highly deserve for their efforts.

It has deteriorated so badly the last decade or so that it was becoming a safety hazard and an eye sore for way too long. I know that there has been a lot of cut backs but something like this just can’t be left to rot for heaven’s sake.

I hear that they have ordered new playground equipment for the kids to play on as well as new Park Benches and Picnic Tables as well for families to us and enjoy. I am assuming that they will be using the new rubberized playground equipment which is so much than the old wooden equipment that was used back in my day. Can’t tell you how many splinters we all got from that junky old rotten wood. Today’s kids don’t know how good they have it, I can tell you that!

They plan on having everything ready, good to go for next spring. We will see if they manage to hit that target date or not.

My aching back is telling me that I need to plunge ahead and purchase a new set, in an effort to save my health. There is too much to do around here, I’ve been taking Aleve day and night, it helps a little, but this nagging back ache has got to go, and soon.

Since I don’t live close to any sizable town to drive into and shop around for the perfect bed and mattress set, I will take advantage of the Internet and seriously start looking into buying a complete new one for the Master Bedroom, in which I am currently residing in.

There isn’t a shortage of companies that are offering beds online, these days, I’ve been looking all morning while watching the Inauguration on the television. I really like what I see at Silentnight.co.uk, the Silent Night Company is a household name in the U.K.

I’ll have to make a decision soon once and for all. A good night’s sleep is a key factor on what goes on in the daytime.

And that today’s studies show that by providing CPR to an adult that has collapsed due to a sudden cardiac arrest can more than double or triple a person’s chance of coming out of  type of arrest alive. What really bites is that less than 1/3 of these people, that are not in the hospital at that precise moment, don’t even receive CPR.

I know that way too many people are not comfortable performing CPR on anyone – especially on some one that they don’t know for a various reasons. Since the 1980′s what with the AIDS/HIV epidemic people are really scared about getting that close to anyone and have really shied away from the whole CPR idea, big time and not just because they are afraid of doing something wrong. It is such a shame.

I’m so glad that there is a big new ad campaign going on right now with the American Heart Association and the Ad Council that is introducing the Hands-Only CPR technique that hopefully will have a positive impact on people and get people to start saving lives and reducing the number of people that are dying each day because of heart failure. This Hands-Only CPR is a simple 2 step process, the first thing you do is call 911 and the second being to push hard and fast on the chest, right in the center of it, until help arrives. I wish that I could figure out why I can’t seem to post any videos on here lately because I’d love to post a couple of videos that I found demonstrating this two step procedure, bet the best I can do right now is post the picture down below. They are introducing Their Hands Only CPR app there as well a pretty cool interactive site that I would like more people to check out and pass along today.

When I think of mulch, rubber is the last thing that comes to my mind. But apparently there is a new fangled type of mulch that is being manufactured out of old tires by a company called Rubberecycle. This is the same company that provided the White House with the playground that the Obama’s daughters and their lucky play mates get to play on. I’m assuming that when a new president moves into the White House that the playground will stay right where it is, but who knows what the future will bring when that takes place when all of that comes about. But for now it is good to know that the Obamas are doing their part in going green in numerous ways that are all good to know about.

This particluar company offers several products that are long lasting, safe and extremely environment friendly, not to mention economical. I would urge anyone to check out their website of rubberecycle.com and see all that they are about. If I had kids and was looking into having a playground for them to enjoy I would certainly be interested in having this company come out and see what they could come up with for them. We all want our kids to spend time outside having fun, but safety is a big concern, right? The numbers are startling when it comes to injuries that occur on playgrounds all across the country, nothing new really, just more media attention is taking place on the subject these days. I know that I would feel like a real dog if one of my kids or one of their friends or another member of family’s kid got hurt on something that I paid for and allowed them to play on. So it sounds like this rubber mulch is the way to go folks, if you have the need.
