I have always worn a wrist watch, even with all the other technology that now tells us the time at a glance, such as cell phones, blackberries and our computers, I still need to have a watch on my wrist. I just don’t feel completely dressed without one. With as much work that is needed to be done around here I can’t always rely on pulling out my cell phone, at times it is tucked away under several layers of clothing and can’t be easily found in order to see what time it is, while my wrist is always available, for a quick glance of the time.

I have no shortages of wrist watches to use, I now have my father’s few wrist watches that I can wear, if and when I need to, but at times I would really like to have a new watch to sport, and have been looking online to see what types are out there, for when I ‘m ready to buy a new one.

At Thewatchery.com they have some very nice watches that I have been looking at, I like that they offer their Deal of the day right on their homepage for viewing. They have reduced many of their prices as of late, much like other companies that have merchandise that needs to get moving these days.

I have found several watches here that I would like to have for my own, I’ve bookmarked this site for further use, hopefully in the near future.

My parents used to love putting up birdhouses, they really enjoyed finding interesting birdhouses and feeders here and there and the back part of the yard is filled with numerous varieties of them that are still hanging about. Some are really old and in bad shape, so I’ve been contemplating taking some of those down and trashing them and looking for some new ones to replace them with that would fill in the gaps that will be left.

My father made some of them that are out there himself and I hate to toss any of those out, guess I’ll have to take all things in consideration when I take on this task. Dad was a very handy man and made so many things that I have to decide upon what to do with at some point, not a cheerful chore to even to think about.

I’ve located a Bird Houses Outlet Shop earlier today online, which has a great selection to choose from at Birdhousesoutletshop.com, they have good prices, not only on birdhouses, but accessories and books also. I’ve decided on their Hip Roof Barn decorative birdhouse, it comes with the hangers all ready attached and ready for hanging, no pole or stand required and it is on sale at the moment, and fits in well with the farm and all.

The farm has always had issues, at one time or another, with a variety of pests, so I’ve always got my eyes open for different organic pest control info that would benefit us all the way around. This year the corn earworms are supposed to be hitting us bad, which is very disturbing news indeed, considering that corn earworms do major damage to other plants as well. The tomato plant and cotton also is a favorite of these nasty little moths and I don’t look forward to having to deal with this time around.

Organic bug control is the only way to go, in my mind. Too many chemicals have been used in the past around here at the farm, but those days are over and I intend to change a lot of things that I have in power to do so. I’m all about going as “Green” as I possibly can, when ever I can.

I’d like to share with you the following video that can be found online on YouTube. It is a five minute segment that speaks of Safer® brand and its wide range of OMRI Listed® Organic pest control products in a recent show, that I have found most informative and interesting and very relevant to this organic pest control.

I enjoy sitting outside in the cool of the evening. But the mosquitoes usually drive me inside fairly quickly.

They used to be simply annoying, but now that I’ve learned that they spread the West Nile Virus, I don’t want to risk getting sick from them. I’d really love to buy one of those mosquito trap machines that attract the mosquitoes and keeps them from getting to you. That would make life in our yard much more enjoyable, and extend the amount of time I spend outside.

After spending some time now sleeping in the bed here at the farm that most be as old as the original farmhouse decor, I have decided that I really need to invest in a new bed that will be better for my aching back. After putting so much time and effort into the place, plenty of blood, sweat and tears have been placed into the daily work routine and I just can’t do it all anymore with a sore back each morning.

I have been doing some looking around online to see what types of beds are out there these days, I want to find one that is good quality, fits in with the rest of the furnishings in the old place and it definitely needs to be affordable at this point. Man have I been surprisingly overwhelmed with all of the selections that are now being produced and being offered these days, but I was happy to find one particular site at Time4sleep.co.uk that has a few that have caught my eye and I want to check out further that are in their Antique beds category.

A good quality bed is an investment and not something that I will take lightly, but I really need to make a decision soon, as these cold winter mornings are bad enough without starting them with an aching back!

Once again all of their technology which is used for weather forecasting has done us wrong, this happens way too often and gets my dander up when it occurs on occasion.

Looks like I will be spending most of the day taking on some much needed inside projects and tasks, while keeping a good fire burning to keep the place warm during this below freezing weekday, down at the farm.

Spent most of the day looking for the cans of degreasers that I swore were kept in the grey out building behind the garage. I always seem to be looking for something around here. If I didn’t know any better I would swear that some one is playing jokes on me, but considering that I am the only one that lives here and that I rarely have any visitors I really don’t think that that is the case. My sister tells me that she thinks that it is our late father messing with my head like he used to like to do to me while he was still on this earth. Or that I am just getting old and burned out, which is the explanation that I believe to be true.

I really could use a vacation, but I can’t leave this house and the farm to run it’s self for even two days in a row for heaven’s sake. A week away from here, some where nice and warm by the water sounds wonderful, but I don’t see that happening any time soon unless I can find some one to take over all the things that need to be done around the old homestead and I don’t know even one person that I could rely on to due that for me.

In the mean time I guess I’ll need to take a trip into town tomorrow and buy a new can of degreaser. As much as I am burned out from being here all alone all the time I really hate going into town.

The latest thing that I have discovered is the need for a new Undermount Sink in the kitchen. Instead of going into town and spending the time and money that it takes for the gasoline that it takes for the trip, I have asked my eldest sister to take a look for me on the Internet to help find some sites that have affordable Undermount Sinks since she is very familiar with everything around here as well as I am and I trust her judgement since she helps out more than anyone else around the house when she is able. Right now I really have my hands full on the farm, with Fall being one of the busiest times of the year for us here, so any help right now is totally appreciated.
