As a farmer I can appreciate all the hype about going “Green” in any way, shape or form that we can manage. If everyone just pitched in we all good enjoy our Mother Earth for a long time to come. I come from a family that has always been aware of many ways to recycle and have done our best in keeping new trees growing and replanting what we can, when we can, amongst other things.

This year has been so very difficult for so many people and it’s a shame that things aren’t picking up fast enough for most. I’m afraid that this year’s holiday season will fall short, big time, of so many people’s expectations. Retail is going to be crazy with sales and promotions trying to squeeze any dollars that they possibly can out of “Joe Public” and people are going to be looking for bargains more than ever. I’m glad that I don’t have a large amount of people on my list that I need to buy for this Christmas and I plan on doing as much purchasing online as I can.

Season’s Greetings From The Family Homestead

My parents were adamant about sending out Christmas cards to many friends and every family member that they ever had the pleasure of meeting and knowing. Last year I didn’t get a chance to send any cards out, for many a reasons. But this year I plan on sending out as many as I possibly can that I can read legibly on my mother’s handwritten Christmas card list. I discovered it a few months back in a dresser drawer that I was cleaning out and was pleased to read over it.

Since the place has many pine trees adorning it, I thought it fitting to sent the Pinecone photo christmas cards that I found at 123print.co.uk with the photo of the old house that I uploaded and will have imprinted on the front of it. I think the folks that will be receiving them will appreciate.

Christmas will be here soon enough, I have my work cut out for me, there are over 50 names and addresses on that list!

All Work and No Play

My older sister is making plans to take the whole family to Florida during the Christmas holidays, when her kids are home for two weeks from school. She received a handsome check from the I.R.S. this year due to the tax credits and the stimulus package from President Obama and wants to take everyone away from all the hustle and bustle that live dishes out to each and every one of us. I’m up for that!

She has been researching Disney Tickets on the Internet, getting a head start on it all and taking her time in an effort to find the best deals. The Internet has brought making such a task a much easier one to tackle, but it still takes take to gather the information and digest it all. I’m good with anything at any time. I’m getting so burnt out taking care of the farm and the old homestead that I not going to picky about anything. I’ll just be grateful to get out of here and all the responsibilities that have been dished out for me this past year. I never thought that I’d find myself in this type of situation, but I’m giving it my best shot and trying to make the best of it. But all work and no play makes for a very tired old man!
