Green Is All Good!

As a farmer I can appreciate all the hype about going “Green” in any way, shape or form that we can manage. If everyone just pitched in we all good enjoy our Mother Earth for a long time to come. I come from a family that has always been aware of many ways to recycle and have done our best in keeping new trees growing and replanting what we can, when we can, amongst other things.

So I was happy to find a list of the best 10 green web site hosting companies that are going the extra mile in an effort to be as Eco-friendly as possible. I’m going to check them all out and see about switching to the one that I decide on. Green Geeks states that they are 300% Green Hosting and are a free domain name, host unlimited domains, along with a free site builder. Out of 5 stars they rate a 4 1/2 so that is a plus.

On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a two-page amendment courtesy of Republican Tom Coburn that would require all Members and their staffs to enroll in any new government-run health plan. It took me less than a minute to sign up to require our congressmen and senators to drink at the same trough! Three cheers for Congressman John Fleming of Louisiana !

Congressman John Fleming ( Louisiana physician) has proposed an amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the same health care plan they force on us (under proposed legislation they are curiously exempt).

Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go on his Website and sign his petition (very simple – just first, last and email). I have immediately done just that at: http://fleming.house.gov/index.html . Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!

If Congress forces this on the American people, the Congressmen should have to accept the same level of health care for themselves and their families.

Approaching Holidays

With the holidays fast approaching us, it makes me wonder what all I am in store for. This will be such a bittersweet time for the family with out our folks being around to celebrate them all with us. Last year was the first year without them and it was a rough time all the way around. I can only hope that this year people will be able to lighten up a bit, all things considered.

This year has been so very difficult for so many people and it’s a shame that things aren’t picking up fast enough for most. I’m afraid that this year’s holiday season will fall short, big time, of so many people’s expectations.
