Warm Hands & Feet

During the winter months, I do spend a good amount of my time both at home and a work, outside in the cold and damp weather conditions. One of my sisters heard one of the kids talking about these hand warmers that are all the rage with the cheerleaders that spend so much time in the cold weather also and she decided to inquire about these new products and ask around a bit for more info.

While she was at Wal Mart she checked in the Hunting Department and found this wonderful product and bought a dozen or so of these packets, that you open and shake for a few moments, and that you put in your pocket or gloves and they provide continuous heat for 10 full hours or more. You can even place them in the toe of your shoe or boot.

I tried them out last month when we had the extremely cold weather and was impressed with how well they worked, I’m glad that she took and ran with this brilliant idea, she is good to me.

A Local Online Yellow Pages

I’ve found a great site that works well in finding local businesses, a local search engine based on any locality information. You can find what ever type of business or service, with accurate driving directions to get you there, along with their hours and contact information as well as reviews and their websites, a virtual online local yellowpages.  Basically a one stop shop for locating local merchants to give your business to. We are finding ourselves in tough times and shopping locally helps keep money in your own home town and community, which is a good plan of action for us to undertake during our economic crisis these days.

At Local.com you can find just about anything you need while given the opportunity to contribute your reviews with others as well. It is always good to hear what others have to say about products and services, especially when you have a good shot at knowing the people that are making the reviews, in and around your own community. I checked out a few local restaurants at Local.com and found comments and reviews from several people that I know from this part of the country and around town, that was pretty cool.

Cash for Recycling

Back in December, during Christmas dinner, the subject of recycling beer and soda cans came about, in which I found out that there is a local company that will pay you cash for these types of cans. The price just recently went down from sixty seven cents per pound, to thirty two cents a pound, what a drastic price drop, but all the same I am now making an effort of sorting these two types of cans into a separate container on the back porch and when I get a dozen big trash bags or so I will take a trip downtown and see what kind of cash it brings in to the household.I all ready sort and recycle, so it will not take too much of an added effort in order to bring in a few bucks now and then.

Television Service Providers

With so many Direct TV Options available with their program packages, you can’t go wrong with choosing them for your television viewing needs and pleasures. I’ve switched over to DirectTV satellite since coming back home to the farm, my parents had been relying on cable for so many years that I figured the place was due for an upgrade.

Since I had previously been a customer of DirecTV,  it didn’t cost me anything to have it transferred over to the farm house, the whole process was easy and economical as well. And since I have all ready earned a few hundred dollars from referring customers to them, I eagerly look forward to earning some more cash rewards with folks that I run into that are not currently subscribers with Direct TV and are looking for a change due to the digital converter boxes that are soon going to be needed by many people.

Mytvoptions.com is a good resource tool for figuring out which television service provider is best suited for your needs in your particular service area. You only have to place your zip code in the box and the information for all pertaining to available providers is there for your choosing.
