Tomorrow’s weather forecast is indicating that it will most likely be the last nice Sunday that we will be able to enjoy before winter really sinks in and freezing temperatures will be the norm for a few months. While I really should spend the day doing things around the place, but I’ve decided to take up my buddies offer of participating in a good old paintball game with them tomorrow afternoon.
In anticipation of the “friendly” game that is scheduled for tomorrow, I have gone online and looked at a site that I had bookmarked, some time back, at Ultimatepaintball.com and found myself wishing that I could have a nice new paintball gun for the occasion. They ship things very quickly, but not that quick.
They have such a nice looking and sounding Black Tippmann A-5 A5 Paintball Marker Gun that I would love to be able to bring along. Having good paintball markers is such a plus when participating in this very strenuous sport, that will most likely cause me to be in pain for the following days after the game. I’ll have to see how it goes tomorrow, if I survive the whole game and feel good about playing again, as it has been a few years since playing last, I may just have to order a new gun from them, for under $200.
I was reading on the Internet at the Reuter’s website that the Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva felt compelled to speak in defense of using corn for biofuel. He claims that his country is not contributing to global warming or food shortages by growing corn for biofuel. This was in apparent reaction to a week’s worth of demonstrations held in Europe and Brazil that were being held to protest how the use of corn to create biofuel appears to be bad for the economy, the environment, and is creating a world wide food shortage. From the article that I read it appears to me that the largest critics are those who have a vested interest in keeping the world dependent on fossil fuels. Of course, that’s just my perception, I could be wrong, but that’s what it appears like to me!
Philadelphia Red Cross Car Donation is looking to assist with the process of donating your car, truck, SUV, van, airplane, boat, timeshare, or motorcycle, which is a good way to dispose of your unwanted vehicles and can provide you with a nice tax write off for the year.
Since 2008 is now over and done with, all donations will be going towards the 2009 tax return season and I have several old vehicles here at the farm that are just wasting away and have decided to have them hauled off the property and donate them soon.
A very useful site can be found at Charitydispatch.com, they have vehicle donation specialist waiting 24/7 in order to help you with any questions or concerns regarding charity donations. They make it easy to find the charity of your choice in which to contact to discuss donations and I’m glad that they were able to hook me up with the Philadelphia Red Cross that is going to profit from my several vehicles that I’m looking to rid the farm of.
I wanted to wait until 2008 was over to start donating, I’m looking for all the tax write offs that I can find for next year and this will certainly make a difference for next year’s tax time.
I’m not a parent (at least I don’t think I am!) but I’d like to think that I’d be a pretty good one down the road. What I mean by that is that I think I have at least some common sense that would keep my child from falling out of an open second story window! I’m saying this as a result of reading an Internet story about an incident that happened in New York, where a baby fell out of an open second story window.
The baby is safe, it was an odd chance of fate that a postal worker was under the window trying to deliver a package when the baby fell on top of the postal worker! The postal worker managed to catch the baby! The mother says she put the baby on a bed beside an open window, turned her back for a moment and the baby seized that moment to crawl out the open window and fall out. So just how dumb do you have to be to put a baby in a position where the baby COULD even get NEAR an open second floor window? For crying out loud, put the baby on the FLOOR! Put strong screens or bars on the window!
Some people are just too stupid to be parents, and yet they ARE parents anyway. The stupid gene continues to proliferate.
I guess if you really want the best quality Motorcycle Boots that can be found for purchasing, a good place to find them would be a company that makes and sells footwear for our law enforcement personnel. Since my one brother is a motorcycle riding police officer and has been for most of his adult life, he would certainly know about such things.
You see, I located my father’s old Harley Davidson, a 1932 VL Flathead, in the back area of one of the out buildings, a basket case at this point, but still an exciting prospect. I’m pretty good with a wrench and my brother has a good amount of knowledge concerning Harley’s and has a lot of contacts that will come into play for parts and questions, I’m sure, in putting Dad’s old scooter back together and back on the road once again.
If and when she is back together and running I’ll need the appropriate clothing and accessories to keep me warm and safe while riding this wonderful piece of machinery that my Dad so enjoyed in his younger years. So I have been taking some time looking online to find the various items that I will be needing in the near future for my use. One particular good site for good quality motorcycle boots, per my brother, can be found at Copshoes.com, he has used them in the past and has always been happy with his purchases and the customer service that he has received, with their toll free number which is manned Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 5, for questions or concerns about their high quality footwear and your particular orders.
