I was fortunate enough to catch Obama’s speech early this afternoon, I was impressed with all that he had to say about concerning his plan of action that he intends to take for our suffering country. It wasn’t a very long speech, only lasting maybe 15 or 20 minutes, short, sweet and to the point.
He has his hands full and I wish him all the luck with all that will shortly be on his plate.
The automobile companies are really turning out some brilliant promotions in an effort to entice buyers in these troubled economic times. Each week I seem to catch wind of some type of amazing deal that these financially strapped ato companies are announcing, such as the one that I was just reading about regarding Toyota, Peugeot and Vauxhall and Honda promos and that now at an online dealer at Broadspeed.com is offering a buy one, get one free deal with their Kia Magentis models. An amazing offer to say the least.
I found this article while at Autonetinsurance.co.uk looking at insurance opportunities available over in the London, England area, just for grins and giggles. I’m sitting here waiting for the guys to show for my sump pump and leaking basement issue and have been mindlessly surfing the net, seeing what I can get into for a short time while waiting.
It is always interesting to see sites from other countries, and I always find myself learning something out of my efforts of peaking into other countries near and far. Sites from the U.K. are my favorite because I can understand the language, for the most part anyway, and maneuver around with ease such as at this site that offers all types of insurance. Home insurance, motorbike insurance, liability insurance, tool insurance, pet insurance and numerous other types that we are finding ourselves in need of these days in the 21st century.
The other night I was watching the television show 60 minutes, which is my favorite news magazine show. I was especially interested in the story about how a mixture of peanut butter, powdered milk, sugar and vitamins was created and named Plumpynut was created and is being used with great success to feed malnourished children in third world countries.
This was definitely a “feel good” story about how progress is being made to help the needy. I’m glad I stayed up to watch it. I hope that the use of Plumpynut spreads to other third world countries to help feed their starving children too.
These wonderful High Intensity Discharge lights that they have available these days are a truly a most useful tool, especially for boaters that find themselves in need of a good lighting system, such as my brother-in-law found himself in just the other day.
He had received some nice HID boat spotlights, by Magnalight for Christmas and some other boating accessories as well, that he was very anxious to try out and did, on a day that most people wouldn’t venture onto the water on, but as I stated he was a bit anxious. He got a late start and ended up out farther than he calculated on and it got dark quickly on him and he ended up losing his way, all alone, wet and cold. A good thing that he is an experienced water man because it could have ended up real ugly.
He certainly got the opportunity to use his newly acquired spotlight and got home safe and sound, just his ego was bruised a bit, but he has a sense of humor and has made a good entertaining story out of the whole deal that will be told for years to come.
This is fast becoming the type of day where a nice hot cup of apple cider, with a shot of some spiced rum will taste mighty good. I was all set to make myself a cup when I noticed that it wasn’t even noon yet and decided that I should wait a few more hours at least before indulging. I’m not a serious drinker what so ever, but on cold and wet days such as this, it sure would be a nice treat and certainly only one shouldn’t be an issue. Some warmth on the inside sounds like heaven at this point.
